New Delhi , Nov 10: The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council likely to cut tax rate from the highest slab of 28% and slash rates for daily use items as it meets in Guwahati on Friday.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday hinted about that the panel could bring down the tax rate on various goods including on many items of daily use at its next meeting.

The panel chaired by Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had recommended two key changes and the first was lowering tax rates for eating out and second, tax rate distinction between AC and non-AC restaurants.
