India and Bangladesh, together against terrorism

Sushma Swaraj on her visit to Bangladesh said India and Bangladesh are together against terrorism.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj after the talk with Bangladeshi delegates on her second visit to Bangladesh said that both the countries are determined to save societies from the threat of violence and terrorism. “We discussed the common challenges that both the countries facing today. These challenges include terrorism, extremism and radicalisation and we will continue to fight against these challenges together and long with like-minded countries,” Ms Swaraj said.

“India is a reliable development partner of Bangladesh. Total credit that India has extended to Bangladesh so far is USD 8 billion, which is the largest development assistance that India has extended worldwide,” Sushma Swaraj said.

In past three years, India has helped Bangladesh to develop many projects which include, students’ hostels, tube-wells, cultural centres, and orphanages and so on. Total of 24 such projects completed already. Along with that at present 58 such projects including city development projects in Rajshahi, Khulna and Sylhet, are under implementation.
