Kim Jong Un’s unofficial visit to China
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, surprised everyone with his unofficial visit to Beijing, China. Kim’s this week’s visit to China is the first foreign trip of North Korea’s supreme leader since he came to power in 2011.

The North Korean official news agency, Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), has confirmed the visit of Kim to China along with his wife Ri Sol Ju. Chinese, Xi Jinping’s invitation to Kim Jon Un was the reason behind Kim’s unofficial visit to Beijing.
Kim’s visit to China suggests a move to repair the relationship with China, which has been stressed in recent year. Along with his first foreign trip to China Kim is planned to meet the South’s president, Moon Jae-in, and then U.S. President Donald Trump ahead.
According to KCNA while making a toast to President Xi, Kim said that his first trip abroad is in Beijing and it is his responsibility to continue considering North Korea-China relationship as valuable as life.
Kim Jong Un’s whole trip was kept a secret till he was in China. The news was then publicized after he left China. Kim’s father Kim Jong II, used to use the similar approach for his abroad visits.
